BECOME A STUDENT

At the Library

Welcome!

Rowan County Literacy Council (RCLC) provides free and confidential instruction to adults, ages 16 years and older, who have educational goals that are personal or academic.

Our services include one-on-one tutoring and small classes for Adult Literacy and ESL (English as a Second Language) students seeking to improve their reading, writing and language skills.

Tutoring takes place at the Rowan Public Library. Students are expected to meet with their tutor at least once a week for 90 minutes.

To become a student, please fill out the Student Data Sheet. This form is available below or in-person in our office. After filling out the form, our staff will conduct an initial intake assessment to best match you up with a compatible tutor. We provide all the learning materials you will need and skill books for your level. We will also track your progress over time.

After you complete the Student Data Sheet below, our office will contact you to schedule your intake assessment. If you have any questions, please call our office at 704.216.8266.
