WHAT WE DO

The mission of the Rowan County Literacy Council is to provide literacy instruction to individuals regardless of means or ability to pay, to improve the quality of life for individuals and to advocate for literacy awareness.

Rowan County Literacy Council provides instruction to Rowan County residents of all ages.

As a non-profit organization, the Council’s primary focus is free and confidential, one-to-one tutoring by trained volunteer tutors. When appropriate, some tutoring may be done in small group settings.

We offer literacy programs for American students as well as ESL tutoring.
